About Us: Dunbar Education Recruitment Agency is dedicated to matching passionate educators with rewarding opportunities in the field of Special Education Needs (SEN). We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Classroom Teacher to join a special school catering to students aged 11-18 with diverse learning needs.

Specialising in supporting students with Educational Health & Care Plans (EHCPs) indicating learning difficulties. Students at our school often present with attainment levels well below their peers, alongside additional challenges such as physical difficulties, speech and language delays, low self-esteem, sensory impairments, and underdeveloped social skills.

Non-Negotiables:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
  • Minimum of 6 months of teaching experience in the UK

Essential Skills and Qualities:

  • Proven experience teaching across a range of abilities, preferably within an SEN setting
  • Ability to provide clear vision and leadership within the classroom
  • Capacity to remain composed under pressure and make sound decisions when required
  • Strong conflict resolution skills, with the ability to handle sensitive situations sensitively and effectively
  • Excellent listening skills and capacity for empathy towards students and colleagues
  • Demonstrated high level of commitment to the teaching profession and the wellbeing of students

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and respected
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure a holistic approach to student development and support
  • Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and resources to facilitate student progress and achievement
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in relevant meetings and training sessions as required
