Maths Teacher/Tutor for Secondary SEN School

Job Description

Dunbar Education Recruitment Agency is seeking a passionate and dedicated Maths Teacher/Tutor to join a Secondary SEN (Special Educational Needs) school. The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with a range of SEN needs, including SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health), challenging behaviour, dyslexia, social communication difficulties, ADHD, and ASD.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Previous experience in special education settings
  • Evidence of successful and recent class/group maths teaching responsibility

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated maths lessons tailored to meet the diverse needs of SEN students.
  • Provide individualised support and interventions to students who require additional assistance in understanding mathematical concepts.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies effectively to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) and other professionals to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students with specific difficulties.
  • Monitor and assess students' progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to support their academic and personal development.

Additional Information:

This is a full-time position, Monday to Friday. Part-time candidates will not be considered. The successful candidate will join a dedicated team of educators committed to making a difference in the lives of SEN students.
