Firstly let me start by telling you about Dunbar Education – We are an education recruitment company based in the England. We work with UK and Overseas based Primary and Secondary trained teachers to help them find long term and permanent posts throughout England!
At Dunbar Education our motto is #proudofwhatwedo - because we love what we do and are proud to have helped so many teachers to secure their perfect role. We take the time to understand every teacher’s individual needs, and know that everyone’s are different, and are then able to support them when finding their perfect teaching job and beyond!
Now why would you want to teach in the UK????
Number of Roles Available!
Throughout the UK there are a huge number of vacancies available across both Primary and Secondary schools!
Many schools throughout the UK are struggling to fill vacancies in several subject areas in Secondary, and across all year groups in Primary schools. Teacher numbers have been falling for a number of years and as a result, recruitment efforts directed at newly-qualified and experiences overseas teachers over the coming years will at an all-time high. Qualified teachers from Canada, the US, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland are especially in demand, however teachers from all nationalities will are being appointed for roles in the UK.
Career Development & Invaluable Experience
Teaching in the UK is incomparable in terms of the speed in which you can develop your career.
We have seen NQTs relocate from overseas to take their first teaching post and within the first year have been promoted into responsibility such as Head of Department after only a year, and even moving into SLT posts within the first few. We know that back home the number of teaching roles is much lower, and with this comes the reduced number of opportunities to both get your first role and progress in to promoted posts.
Teaching in the UK also offers a unique chance for you to foster effective classroom and behaviour management skills - skills that tend to be highly sought after by hiring schools back home and abroad. Many teachers we work with return to their home countries after a few years with the experience needed to help them get their dream job back at home – however just as many decide that our Fish & Chips are just too good to give up and stay here for good – it’s completely down to you!
The Australian, Canadian and New Zealand Curriculums are so similar to the British one that retraining comes in the form of a day or two’s induction when you arrive.
Travelling in Europe
For teachers from around the world there is no better country to teach in that allows you to travel Europe!
With most of Europe within a couple of hours on a flight, and most schools we deal with within an hour of an airport, teaching in England will give you the opportunity to travel Europe while progressing your career. As well as the holidays, weekend trips are definitely possible.
Whether it is Amsterdam, Vienna, Rome, Paris or Barcelona – all are practically on your doorstep and available for you to visit while you are here – (also worth mentioning that London isn’t too bad for a bit of sightseeing either)
