1:1 Learning Support Assistants (LSA)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and reliable 1:1 Learning Support Assistant to work with children with SEN needs in a vibrant primary school setting.
The successful candidate will be joining a friendly and enthusiastic team that provides specialist support and a secure learning environment. They will have experience of supporting and encouraging individual pupils who need additional help in the classroom, either through educational interventions or learning activities.
Key responsibilities:
- Work 1:1 with pupils to support their learning and social development
- Assess pupil's needs and tailor interventions to improve pupil's learning, development and achievement
- Identify appropriate resources to deliver learning
- Adapt resources as needed to support specific needs
- Promote positive behaviour, support the development of independent learning and be a positive role model
- Participate in additional activities outside the classroom
Requirements:
- Qualified with NVQ Level 2 or equivalent
- Have at least 2 years' experience of working with children
- Able to engage children in meaningful activities
- Good working knowledge of safeguarding children
- Up-to-date with best practices in special education
- Strong communication, problem-solving and organizational skills
- Committed to developing and fostering good relationships with children, colleagues, and parents
This is a full-time, permanent position from Monday to Friday from 8.30-15.30. The successful candidate should be available to start as soon as possible.
