Job Title: Academic Administrator

Location: Abingdon, Oxfordshire

Employment Type: Full-Time

We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Academic Administrator to join a dynamic team at a reputable Independent secondary school located in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. As the Academic Administrator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the smooth functioning of the academic department and contribute to the overall success of the school.

Responsibilities:

  1. Student Records Management:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations.
    • Assist in the enrollment and withdrawal processes for students.
  2. Class Scheduling and Timetabling:

    • Collaborate with academic staff to create and update class schedules and timetables.
    • Handle changes to schedules and communicate updates to relevant parties.
  3. Examination Coordination:

    • Coordinate examination logistics, including room assignments, invigilation schedules, and distribution of examination materials.
    • Support the examination process, ensuring adherence to examination regulations.
  4. Communication and Correspondence:

    • Facilitate effective communication between academic staff, students, and parents.
    • Draft and proofread academic-related correspondence, such as announcements and newsletters.
  5. Event Planning:

    • Assist in organizing academic events, parent-teacher conferences, and other school-related functions.
    • Provide logistical support for academic meetings and conferences.
  6. Administrative Support:

    • Undertake general administrative tasks to support the academic department, including filing, photocopying, and managing office supplies.
    • Provide assistance to teachers and academic staff as needed.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in administrative roles, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficient in using office software, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with educational databases and systems is an advantage.

Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
