Animation/Graphics Teacher

Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented and passionate Animation/Graphics Teacher to join our team in a challenging behaviour setting. As an Animation/Graphics Teacher, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact on the lives of students with challenging behavior while nurturing their creative talents in the field of animation and graphics.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and dynamic lessons in animation and graphics, tailored to the specific needs and abilities of students with challenging behavior.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel safe and supported in expressing their creativity.
  • Teach fundamental principles and techniques of animation and graphics, including storyboarding, character design, 2D and 3D animation, visual effects, and digital illustration.
  • Provide hands-on instruction and guidance to students in using industry-standard software tools and equipment for animation and graphics production.
  • Foster a collaborative and team-oriented approach by organizing group projects and encouraging students to work together on creative assignments.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress, provide constructive feedback, and develop individualized learning plans to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, including behavioral specialists and support staff, to develop strategies for managing challenging behavior and promoting positive student engagement.
  • Stay up to date with the latest trends and advancements in animation and graphics, and incorporate relevant industry practices and techniques into the curriculum.
  • Actively participate in staff meetings, professional development activities, and school events to contribute to the overall development and success of the school community.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in Animation, Graphics, Fine Arts, or a related field.
  • Prior teaching experience, preferably in a challenging behavior or special education setting.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard animation and graphics software, such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), Autodesk Maya, Blender, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of animation and graphics principles and techniques.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to connect with and motivate students.
  • Patience, resilience, and the ability to remain calm and composed in challenging situations.
  • Understanding of behavior management strategies and the ability to implement positive behavior support plans.
  • A commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment for students with challenging behavior.
