We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head of Department to lead the Drama department. As a Head of Department, you will have a critical role in shaping the future of our Drama department, ensuring that our students receive an exceptional education in Drama.
Responsibilities:
- To lead and manage the Drama department in Brentwood, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning is provided at all times * To develop and implement a curriculum that is engaging, relevant, and aligned with the latest educational trends and standards * To monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department, providing regular feedback and support to teachers * To oversee the professional development of Drama teachers, ensuring they have the support and training they need to excel in their role * To work collaboratively with other departments and senior leaders to promote Drama across the school and develop cross-curricular links * To organise and oversee Drama productions, ensuring that they are of a high standard and that all students have the opportunity to participate * To ensure that the Drama department is compliant with all relevant policies, procedures, and legislation
Requirements:
- A degree in Drama, Performing Arts or a related subject * A PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification * Significant experience of teaching Drama at secondary school level * A track record of success in a leadership role within a Drama department * An up-to-date knowledge of the latest developments and trends in Drama education * The ability to lead and inspire a team of Drama teachers * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * The ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from different departments
