The Role:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the enthusiastic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting teaching and learning across the school, working closely with teachers to deliver high-quality educational experiences for pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging lessons.
- Provide support to individual pupils and small groups, helping to raise attainment and progress.
- Cover classes and deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the class teacher.
- Support the assessment and monitoring of pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for pupils with special educational needs.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the school's values and ethos.
- Participate in extracurricular activities and school events as required.
Person Specification:
- Qualifications: HLTA status or equivalent qualification is essential. Additional qualifications in education or child development are desirable.
- Experience: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA in a primary school setting.
- Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents. Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Knowledge: A sound understanding of the primary school curriculum and effective teaching strategies. Knowledge of SEN best practices is advantageous.
- Attributes: A proactive and flexible approach, with a genuine passion for working with children and helping them achieve their full potential.
