Key Responsibilities:

As a Level 3 SEN Assistant, your primary role will be to provide dedicated support to children with special educational needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Individualized Support: Working closely with SEN students, tailoring your approach to their unique needs, and ensuring they receive the necessary support to thrive academically and socially.

  2. Classroom Assistance: Assisting teachers in creating an inclusive learning environment, helping with lesson planning, and ensuring students with SEN can fully participate in classroom activities.

  3. Emotional Support: Providing emotional support and encouragement to SEN students, helping them build confidence and self-esteem.

  4. Record-Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of student progress and any incidents, sharing information with relevant team members and parents as required.

  5. Collaboration: Collaborating with other SEN staff, teachers, and parents to develop and implement effective strategies for students with SEN.

  6. Safety: Ensuring the safety and well-being of all students, following safeguarding procedures at all times.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Level 3 qualification in Special Educational Needs (SEN) or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with SEN.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and interventions.
