Mathematics Teacher - Specialist SEN Provision

Location: Northampton, UK

Salary: £150 - £180 per day, depending on experience

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Start Date: September 2024

About the Role:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Mathematics Teacher to join a distinctive SEN provision for students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This position provides a challenging yet fulfilling opportunity to support students who benefit from a compassionate and supportive educational approach. This is a contract role with designated days off throughout the year, but please note that there are no traditional school holidays.

Role Overview:

As a Maths Teacher, you will be part of a vibrant team focused on aiding students with considerable educational challenges. This role provides a structured and supportive environment, distinct from a conventional school setting and emphasises the overall development of each student. Your safety and well-being are prioritised and team collaboration on planning ensures no extra work outside school hours. You will work with students aged 11 to 17 years old.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver engaging and tailored Math lessons to students with SEN needs.
  • Collaborate with a supportive team to create a safe and structured learning environment.
  • Focus on managing challenging behaviours and supporting the emotional well-being of students.
  • Work closely with colleagues to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) that address the specific needs of each student.

Requirements:

  • Experience teaching Mathematics, with a focus on supporting students with SEN needs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, with a commitment to creating a positive learning environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a non-judgmental approach to teaching.
  • While a PGCE and QTS are not required, we welcome applications from former teachers who have relevant experience as a teacher in this field.
