Our client school is a vibrant educational community that prides itself on catering to the diverse needs of its students, including those with special educational needs (SEN) and behavioural issues. Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Support: Address pupils' personal needs, including social, health, hygiene, first-aid, and welfare matters.
- Classroom Preparation: Prepare and clear classrooms, and assist in displaying pupils' work.
- Administrative Tasks: Provide clerical and administrative support, including photocopying, typing, filing, collecting money, and maintaining records.
- Learning Support: Assist in planning and delivering learning activities.
- Out-of-School Activities: Accompany teachers and pupils on out-of-school activities, taking responsibility for a group under a teacher's direction.
- Communication: Communicate with parents and carers as directed by a teacher.
- Testing: Administer and oversee routine tests.
- Individual Plans: Assist in developing individual education plans and personal care programmes.
- Special Educational Needs: Supervise and support pupils with identified special educational needs.
- Programme Delivery: Plan, deliver, and evaluate programmes of work to meet teaching and learning objectives, including intervention strategies.
- Inclusivity: Promote and support inclusivity, ensuring all pupils have equal access to learning and development opportunities.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the overall ethos and aims of the school.
- Participate in training, learning activities, and performance development as required.
- Adhere to and implement policies and procedures related to child protection, health, safety, security, e-safety, confidentiality, and data protection, reporting all concerns to the appropriate person.
- Perform any other duties appropriate to the grade of the post as requested by the headteacher or deputy headteacher.
The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for someone with:
- Previous experience working with children, ideally within a school setting.
- A strong commitment to supporting the educational and personal development of children.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A compassionate and proactive approach to working with children, including those with special educational needs and behavioural issues.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
- A positive attitude towards professional development and a willingness to engage in training.
- Basic knowledge of first aid.
- NVQ qualification or equivalent- not a must but desirable
