SEN Primary Teachers

Dunbar Education are currently working with a new SEN School in Corby who are looking to appoint KS1 and KS2 SEN Teachers starting from January 2023

This School caters for children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health, Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. They are looking to appoint someone starting from September on a temporary to permanent post.

The School comprises of two classes: 8x students taught by one teacher and one Learning Advisor.

Classes are split into:

  • KS1/lower KS2
  • KS2

The School's curriculum has a large focus on developing social and emotional skills as well as ensuring that pupils make academic progress. They also offer therapeutic support- play and integrated therapy and speech and language therapy. They use a cross-curricular approach to planning and teaching as we know that this works well for their learners. A personalised curriculum also ensures that those who previously were disengaged learners are able to develop an interest in learning and make progress.

They aim for their pupils to:

  • Make progress in terms of their social and emotional needs -thus impacting positively on their overall development.
  • Gain confidence and self-esteem
  • See themselves as active learners
  • Make academic progress
  • Feel included within their community
  • Develop the skills necessary for a successful transition to KS3
  • Make progress in relation to their EHCP targets
