Role and Responsibilities:
As a SEN TA, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to students with special educational needs, ensuring their educational and emotional needs are met. Your responsibilities will include:
- Working closely with the classroom teacher to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide one-on-one or small group support to students.
- Adapting learning materials and activities to suit the diverse needs of students with varying abilities.
- Assisting students with their personal care needs, as required.
- Providing positive behavior management and promoting a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
- Collaborating with other professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and counselors, to support students' holistic development.
- Monitoring and recording students' progress and communicating effectively with parents, caregivers, and the wider school team.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs is desirable.
- A patient, empathetic, and understanding demeanor.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to the changing needs of the students.
- A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality within an educational setting.
- Relevant certifications or training in special education or related fields are advantageous.
