SEN Teaching Assistant (Bedfordshire)

Are you a dedicated and compassionate individual looking to make a positive impact on the lives of students with special educational needs? We are currently seeking a Special Educational Needs Teaching Assistant (SEN TA) to join our team in Bedfordshire.

Role and Responsibilities:

As a SEN TA, you will play a crucial role in providing support and assistance to students with special educational needs, ensuring their educational and emotional needs are met. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the classroom teacher to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide one-on-one or small group support to students.
  • Adapting learning materials and activities to suit the diverse needs of students with varying abilities.
  • Assisting students with their personal care needs, as required.
  • Providing positive behavior management and promoting a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborating with other professionals, such as speech therapists, occupational therapists, and counselors, to support students' holistic development.
  • Monitoring and recording students' progress and communicating effectively with parents, caregivers, and the wider school team.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with individuals with special educational needs is desirable.
  • A patient, empathetic, and understanding demeanor.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to the changing needs of the students.
  • A commitment to promoting inclusion and equality within an educational setting.
  • Relevant certifications or training in special education or related fields are advantageous.
