bout the Role:

Dunbar Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join a reputable specialist SEN school in Shrewsbury. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of children with special educational needs, including Autism and behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to students with SEN, particularly those with Autism and behavioural needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other staff to support the holistic development of each student.
  • Assist in the preparation and adaptation of learning materials.
  • Support students during school activities, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Monitor and report on student progress and behaviour.


  • Proven experience working with children with SEN, Autism, and behavioural needs.
  • Understanding of SEN best practices and strategies for effective support.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children with special educational needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or child care (desirable but not essential).
