  • ASAP start
  • Hemel Hempstead
  • Ofsted 'Outstanding' Special School
  • Permanent Post

Dunbar Education are currently working with a Special School in Hemel Hempstead who support pupils aged 3 to 19 yrs. We are currently helping them recruit an enthusiastic and energetic Teaching Assistant to work with their fantastic young people. The post is 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 9am-3:30pm)

This is a great opportunity to join a special school that has a real community feel and encourages all children to flourish in a safe and supportive environment. There are numerous opportunities provided to develop your own skills through on-going training and you will become part of a supportive 'Teaching and Learning' team within a class setting.

Many pupils have additional complex needs, including autistic spectrum disorders, epilepsy, physical and sensory impairments. Some pupils require regular medical intervention.

Experience of working with young people who have learning difficulties and/or complex needs would be an advantage but is not essential as full training will be provided. The ideal candidate will have a good sense of humour, enthusiasm and dedication to their role.
