Position Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Subject Leader - Chemistry to join our vibrant school community in Milton Keynes, starting in January. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven and innovative Chemistry teacher who is ready to lead a successful department, or for an experienced subject leader looking for a new challenge. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the Chemistry curriculum and inspiring both students and staff to achieve excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Chemistry department, driving high standards in teaching, learning, and student achievement.
- Plan and deliver engaging and effective Chemistry lessons to students across a range of abilities.
- Develop and implement an innovative Chemistry curriculum, ensuring alignment with school goals and national requirements.
- Track and assess student progress, using data to inform teaching strategies and improve outcomes.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the Chemistry teaching team, supporting their professional development.
- Promote a positive learning environment that fosters curiosity and a love for science.
- Collaborate with senior leadership and other department heads to contribute to the wider school community.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in teaching Chemistry at the secondary level.
- Proven leadership experience or a strong desire to take on a leadership role within the department.
- Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Chemistry education.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Commitment to maintaining high academic standards and supporting student success.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
