Job Description:

Dunbar Education is excited to be recruiting on behalf of a non-selective state school in Oxford for a dedicated and enthusiastic Science Teacher to join their team starting September 2024. This role is open to both full-time and part-time applicants, offering flexibility to suit your needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach Science across Key Stages 3 to 5, delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons.
  • Develop and implement a broad, balanced, and inclusive Science curriculum.
  • Monitor and support the academic and personal development of students.
  • Prepare students for GCSE and A-level examinations, ensuring they achieve their highest potential.
  • Contribute to the development of departmental schemes of work, resources, and assessments.
  • Participate actively in the school's performance management and professional development programmes.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting high standards of behaviour and achievement.
  • Engage with parents, carers, and external agencies to support student progress and well-being.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A degree in Science or a related subject.
  • Proven experience teaching Science at secondary school level, preferably up to A-level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for Science.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and collaborative working.
