Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Primary School)

Job Overview:
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in St Albans. This is an ideal role for someone who is enthusiastic about education, keen to support children's learning, and enjoys working as part of a friendly and supportive team. The position involves working closely with the class teacher to provide high-quality support to pupils, including those with special educational needs (SEN), ensuring they receive an inclusive and engaging learning experience.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and interactive lessons.
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils who may need additional assistance, including those with SEN.
- Help prepare teaching materials and set up classroom activities.
- Support the children's social, emotional, and academic development.
- Work collaboratively with other school staff to ensure effective classroom management.
- Encourage positive behavior and foster a nurturing classroom environment.
- Assist in the monitoring and tracking of pupil progress and report findings to the teacher.
Key Requirements:
- Experience working with children in an educational setting (desirable but not essential).
- A passion for working with young learners and contributing to their development.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students and staff.
- Patience, adaptability, and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEN) is highly desirable.
- Minimum GCSEs in Maths and English (or equivalent).
- An enhanced DBS check will be required for this position.
