Here's what the role entails:

As a 1:1 SEN Support Assistant, you'll provide personalised assistance to a pupil facing specific learning challenges. Your goal? To ensure they receive the tailored support necessary to thrive in the classroom. This role offers a fulfilling opportunity to make a significant difference in the academic journey of pupils.

Your duties will include:

  • Offering individualised support to a student with SEN, aiding them with academic tasks and fostering independence.
  • Implementing custom education plans and specialized strategies to address the unique needs of the pupil.
  • Assisting the pupil in accessing the curriculum fully and participating actively in classroom activities.
  • Cultivating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, promoting positive social interactions and self-esteem.
  • Collaborating closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to provide comprehensive support for the student.
  • Monitoring the pupils progress and providing constructive feedback to teachers and support staff.

We're looking for someone with:

  • Compassion, patience, and a sincere desire to help people with SEN needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with children, colleagues, and parents.
  • Adaptability and flexibility to accommodate the evolving needs of the pupil.
  • The capability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team, effectively meeting the student's requirements.
  • Understanding of SEN and familiarity with appropriate support techniques and interventions.
