Lots of our TAs and Support staff are employed directly by their new school, either on a permanent or fixed-term contract. . Our excellent relationships with schools and MATs throughout the country mean that we can help you find the perfect next permanent role, whether that's as a TA, LSA, or any other support role.
Long Term Supply
The majority of the TA and Support staff roles are on a long term supply basis. This is a fantastic opportunity for you to be able to get some experience within one or more schools before you commit to a permanent contract in a school. Our agreements with our partner schools often mean that a time period is agreed upon at the beginning of the long term assignment, after which you can decide to join your school directly.
Many of our schools and specialist units require TAs and Support staff on a daily supply basis. This can be to cover a sickness cover, or just an additional member of staff when required. Whether this is a route to getting yourself a long term or permanent role, or you prefer to work on this basis to fit in with other commitments, Day2Day supply is a popular option for our candidates.
Pay when employed directly by a school
When Dunbar Education help you to secure a permanent role with a school, your salary will be paid to you directly by the school itself. If you are a qualified teacher then you will either be paid on MPS, UPS or the Leadership scale. We most definitely do not take any cut of your salary, and while what you are offered ultimately comes down to the school, we are very happy to offer our guidance and support throughout.
Pay when employed via us on a Day2Day or Long Term Supply
If you are employed on either a Day2Day or Long Term assignment through Dunbar then you will be paid on a weekly basis. You will complete a digital timesheet each week, and as long as you do this and it is authorised by your school, you will then be paid the following Friday. To get paid on time, the most important thing is to ensure that you submit it to us by 5pm on the Monday after the week you worked at the very latest. Our teachers and support staff can choose to either be paid on a PAYE basis or via an Umbrella company, and your consultant can provide you with more information on the two options.
Do you just recruit supply teachers?
Most definitely not. Just as many of the roles we recruit for are permanent positions within schools. Where we put you forward to a role and if you're successful then you are employed directly by the school, exactly as you would be if you had applied directly
Does an agency take a cut of my pay?
As an agency we charge the school, so your pay is your pay. Regardless of whether you are paid directly by the school or through us as an agency, we will definitely not take any of your pay.
How do I register with Dunbar Education?
Depending on the type of work you are looking for will determine the way in which you would register with us. It is a different process for permanent roles than it is for shorter term positions, but both methods can be carried out virtually. The best thing we can suggest is to give the team a call or submit your details and we can walk you through the process. It is also worth us mentioning, there is never a charge to register or look for work with Dunbar Education.
