Job Description:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) Learning Support Assistant to join their team. The successful candidate will work closely with a specific pupil, providing tailored support to meet their individual learning needs and help them achieve their educational goals.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with SEND, fostering their academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Implement and adapt educational activities and materials to suit the pupil's learning style and requirements.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCO, and other professionals to create and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Assist with classroom management, ensuring the pupil is fully integrated and engaged in all class activities.
  • Support the pupil during transitions, breaks, and other non-classroom times as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of the pupil's progress and provide regular feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Attend relevant training sessions and meetings to stay updated on best practices in SEND support.


Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting.
  • A strong understanding of various SEND conditions and effective strategies to support learning.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, are desirable but not essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
