1:1 Support Assistant - Burnham
Start Date: September 2025 (or sooner if available)
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 15:15 (term time only plus INSET days)
Salary: Bucks Pay Range (dependent on experience)
Location: Burnham, Buckinghamshire

A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Burnham is seeking a caring and committed 1:1 Support Assistant to work with a pupil with Autism on a full-time basis. This role is ideal for someone experienced in supporting children with special educational needs, particularly those on the autistic spectrum.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to a child with Autism, helping to promote their intellectual, physical, social and emotional development

  • Deliver targeted interventions and support programmes aligned with the child's specific needs

  • Work closely with teaching staff, the SENDCo, and external professionals to ensure consistent, high-quality support

  • Maintain accurate records and follow safeguarding, health & safety, and pupil support protocols

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experienced in supporting children with Autism or other communication and sensory needs

  • Confident working within a team and independently

  • Physically able to engage with young children in play and learning activities

  • Flexible, positive, and proactive in adapting to individual pupil needs

  • Knowledge of SEND practices in mainstream or special school settings is desirable
