We are seeking a dedicated and experienced 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join our client's dynamic Primary school. This role is crucial in providing tailored support to an individual student, fostering their academic, social and emotional development.
Key Responsibilities:
Individualised Support: Provide one-to-one support to a student with diverse learning needs, ensuring their active participation in classroom activities and promoting independence.
Curriculum Adaptation: Collaborate with teachers to adapt and modify learning materials to suit the specific learning style and pace of the supported student, facilitating an inclusive educational experience.
Progress Tracking: Monitor and assess the academic progress and social development of the supported student, maintaining accurate records and providing regular updates to relevant stakeholders.
Behavioural Support: Implement strategies to manage and address challenging behavior effectively, promoting a positive and supportive learning environment.
Communication: Establish and maintain open communication with the student, teachers, and parents to ensure a holistic and collaborative approach to the student's development.
Professional Development: Stay informed about best practices in learning support, attending relevant training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Previous experience working as a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role.
- Knowledge of strategies for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Skills and Attributes:
- Empathy and patience in working with students with diverse learning needs.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual learning styles.
- Proactive and flexible approach to meet the evolving needs of the supported student.
