Location: Corby
Working Hours:

  • Monday - Thursday: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
  • Friday: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM
    (Start times can be negotiated, but finish times are fixed.)

About Us: Dunbar Education is a leading recruitment agency specialising in educational roles. We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Administrative Assistant to join a Special Educational Needs (SEN) school we work closely with in Corby. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a supportive and dynamic educational environment.

Key Responsibilities: As a School Administrative Assistant with SIMS experience, your duties will include, but are not limited to:

  • General Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support to the school, including answering phone calls, managing correspondence, and greeting visitors.
  • Student Records Management: Maintain and update student records using the School Information Management System (SIMS), ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Attendance Monitoring: Record and monitor student attendance, following up on absences and producing attendance reports as required.
  • Data Entry: Accurately input and manage data in SIMS, ensuring that all information is up to date and correctly filed.
  • Communication: Liaise with parents, staff, and external agencies, ensuring effective communication within the school community.
  • Office Organisation: Ensure the administrative office is well-organised and efficient, managing supplies and resources.
  • Event Coordination: Assist in the planning and coordination of school events, meetings, and parent evenings.
  • Financial Administration: Support the finance department with basic tasks such as processing invoices and managing petty cash.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and data protection regulations.
  • Support to SEN Staff: Provide administrative support specific to the needs of the SEN department, including preparing documents and coordinating schedules.

Requirements:

  • Previous administrative experience is essential.
  • School administrative experience is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in using SIMS (School Information Management System) is required.
  • DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
  • Available for an ASAP start.
