Position Overview:

As an Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will play a pivotal role in providing tailored support and guidance to students with ASD. Your expertise and dedication will contribute to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with students with autism to provide individualised support.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and the SENCO to develop and implement effective strategies.
  • Assist with the creation of personalised behaviour intervention plans (BIPs).
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Monitor and track student progress, adjusting interventions as needed.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders is essential.
  • A background in special education, psychology, or related fields is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting children with ASD.
  • DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance, or willingness to obtain one.
