Job Description:
As a Challenging Behaviour Assistant at our SEN School in Milton Keynes, you will play a crucial role in providing support and guidance to students with challenging behaviors. You will work closely with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with challenging behaviors.
- Implement behavior management strategies and interventions as directed by the school's SEN team.
- Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) for students.
- Foster a positive and supportive learning atmosphere.
- Monitor and record student progress and behavior.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to ensure the effective delivery of the curriculum.
- Promote inclusivity and diversity within the school community.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with individuals with challenging behaviors, preferably in an educational setting.
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of SEN students.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Relevant qualifications or training in special education or related fields is a plus.
