We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Behaviour Support Assistant to join a fantastic team in an SEN setting. As a Challenging Behaviour Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing essential support to young people with additional needs, helping them to achieve their full potential and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting Young People. Provide 1-2-1 and group support to children and young people with challenging behaviour in an SEN setting.
  • Behaviour Management. Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions to promote positive behaviour and reduce challenging behaviour.
  • Individualised Support. Tailor support plans to meet the unique needs of each young person, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being.
  • Collaboration. Work closely with SEN Teachers, Therapists, and other professionals to create a holistic support network for each student.
  • Progress Tracking. Monitor and record the progress and achievements of the young people you support.
  • Crisis Intervention. Assist in de-escalating crisis situations and ensure the safety of all students and staff.
  • Communication. Maintain open and effective communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress and any concerns.

Requirements:

  • Experience in supporting children and young people with additional needs in a professional setting
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the changing needs of students
  • A relevant qualification would be advantageous.
