We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Construction Teacher to join our team at a Youth Offenders site in Milton Keynes. This rewarding position offers an opportunity to contribute to the rehabilitation and skill development of youth offenders through construction education.

Position: Construction Teacher

Location: Milton Keynes

Salary: £200 - £245 per day

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver construction-related lessons to youth offenders aged 11-17 within the secure facility.
  • Develop and implement engaging curriculum, tailored to meet the diverse needs of the students.
  • Provide practical hands-on training in various construction trades, such as carpentry, bricklaying, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting respect, teamwork, and personal growth.
  • Assess and evaluate students' progress, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to ensure a comprehensive approach to education and rehabilitation.
  • Support students in developing essential employability skills and preparing for potential vocational opportunities in the construction industry.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, coursework, and assessments.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience in the construction industry with a willingness to work towards a teaching qualification.
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in construction trades, with expertise in at least one area.
  • Ability to effectively engage and communicate with young individuals from diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience working with at-risk or vulnerable youth is desirable.
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • A commitment to the rehabilitation and development of young offenders.
