Dunbar Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Tamworth. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring continuity of education during teacher absences by supervising and engaging students in pre-set work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage classrooms in the absence of the regular teacher
- Ensure students stay on task with pre-set activities
- Maintain a positive and productive learning environment
- Implement the school's behavior policies effectively
- Provide support to students where necessary and address any immediate issues or concerns
- Liaise with teaching staff and senior leadership as required
Requirements:
- Experience working with children or young people in an educational setting
- Strong classroom management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage and motivate students
- Adaptability and flexibility to work in a dynamic school environment
- A positive attitude and a commitment to student welfare and achievement
- Relevant qualifications or a willingness to undergo training (e.g., degree, TA qualification, etc.)
Desirable:
- Previous experience as a Cover Supervisor or in a similar role
- Knowledge of the UK National Curriculum
- First Aid training
