Job Title: Long-Term Cover Supervisor

Location: Reading, various secondary schools

Contract: Temporary, starting September in the new academic year

Duration: Contracts vary from a week to a whole academic year

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking dedicated individuals for the position of Long-Term Cover Supervisor. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity of education by providing cover for absent teachers across various secondary schools in Berkshire. This is a temporary position with contracts ranging from short-term to long-term assignments, depending on the needs of the schools.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons as directed by the absent teacher
  • Manage the classroom environment effectively
  • Ensure students remain on task and engaged in learning
  • Uphold school policies and procedures
  • Provide feedback to regular teaching staff on student progress
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 months UK education-based experience
  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (desirable)
  • Valid safeguarding certification (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to different classroom environments
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • Flexible and reliable
