Cover Till End Of School Year
Job Description: Dunbar Education is currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant Secondary School in Reading. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining continuity of learning by providing cover supervision in the absence of regular teachers.
Key Responsibilities:
Cover Supervision:
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons to classes across various subjects and year groups in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Ensure a positive and productive learning environment, maintaining discipline and managing classroom behavior effectively.
- Manage classroom resources and equipment, ensuring a safe and organized learning environment for students.
Supporting Learning:
- Provide support to students, answering questions and offering guidance as necessary.
- Encourage student engagement and participation in learning activities.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere, promoting the school's values and ethos.
Administrative Tasks:
- Complete registers and any other administrative tasks as required by the school.
- Assist with the supervision of examinations and assessments when necessary.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain regular communication with teaching staff, providing feedback on student progress and any issues arising during cover sessions.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in behavior management and teaching strategies.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 6 months of education experience in a UK secondary school setting.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Excellent classroom management skills, with the ability to maintain discipline and create a positive learning environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work across different subjects and year groups.
- A passion for education and a commitment to supporting student learning and development.
- Relevant qualifications and certifications are desirable but not essential.
