Dunbar Education is seeking a dedicated and experienced Cover Supervisor to join our team in Leighton Buzzard. As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the continuity of education by overseeing classes during the short-term absence of teachers. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the learning environment of local schools and make a positive impact on the educational journey of students.
Key Responsibilities:
Classroom Management: Effectively manage the classroom in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
Lesson Delivery: Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans, ensuring students remain engaged and on-task throughout the session.
Student Support: Provide support to students in understanding and completing assigned tasks, fostering a positive and inclusive learning experience.
Behaviour Management: Implement and maintain school policies on behavior, promoting a respectful and disciplined atmosphere within the classroom.
Communication: Communicate effectively with teaching staff, reporting on student progress and any notable incidents during the class.
Flexibility: Be adaptable and responsive to changes, including last-minute cover requests, and collaborate with colleagues to ensure the smooth running of the school day.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of attendance, behavior, and any relevant information as required by the school.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months of experience working within the UK education system.
- Educated to at least A-level standard or equivalent.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage a classroom effectively and handle challenging behavior.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in different subjects and year groups.
