Client Overview: Our client, a reputable mainstream school in High Wycombe, is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join their team on a temporary basis until the end of the academic year. This role presents an excellent opportunity to contribute to the school community and support the learning environment during absences of regular teaching staff.
Job Description: As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing classes during the short-term absence of teachers, ensuring that students' learning continues in a structured and productive manner. Your role will involve delivering pre-prepared lesson plans, managing classroom behavior, and providing support to students as needed.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise classes in the absence of the regular teacher, following pre-prepared lesson plans.
- Maintain a positive and productive learning environment by managing student behavior effectively.
- Ensure that all students are engaged in learning activities and provide support to individuals or groups as required.
- Manage classroom resources and equipment, ensuring they are used appropriately and returned at the end of the lesson.
- Communicate effectively with teaching staff regarding any issues or concerns arising during the lesson.
- Uphold the school's policies and procedures, including those related to safeguarding and behavior management.
- Provide feedback on student engagement and behavior to the relevant teaching staff.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a UK school setting for a minimum of 4 months is essential.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong classroom management abilities.
- Ability to follow and deliver pre-prepared lesson plans effectively.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across different subjects and year groups as required.
