Job Description: Dunbar Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant Secondary School in Slough. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months of experience working within the UK education system and possess the ability to effectively manage a classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and manage classroom behavior in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a positive and conducive learning environment.
  2. Deliver pre-prepared lessons and instructions left by the absent teacher to ensure continuity in learning.
  3. Assist with the implementation of school policies and procedures, including behavior management strategies.
  4. Provide support to students in their learning activities and address any questions or concerns they may have during the lesson.
  5. Maintain accurate records of attendance and report any issues or incidents to the appropriate school staff.
  6. Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the school day and contribute to the overall educational experience of students.
  7. Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities as required by the school or Dunbar Education.

Qualifications and Experience:

  1. Minimum of 6 months of experience working within the UK education system, preferably in a secondary school setting.
  2. A strong understanding of classroom management techniques and the ability to effectively manage student behavior.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
  4. Confidence in delivering pre-prepared lessons and following instructions provided by the absent teacher.
  5. Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle unexpected situations.
  6. Relevant qualifications in education or a related field are desirable but not essential.
