Job Description: Dunbar Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cover Supervisor to join a vibrant Secondary School in Slough. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 months of experience working within the UK education system and possess the ability to effectively manage a classroom environment in the absence of the regular teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and manage classroom behavior in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring a positive and conducive learning environment.
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons and instructions left by the absent teacher to ensure continuity in learning.
- Assist with the implementation of school policies and procedures, including behavior management strategies.
- Provide support to students in their learning activities and address any questions or concerns they may have during the lesson.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance and report any issues or incidents to the appropriate school staff.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the smooth running of the school day and contribute to the overall educational experience of students.
- Attend training sessions and professional development opportunities as required by the school or Dunbar Education.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 6 months of experience working within the UK education system, preferably in a secondary school setting.
- A strong understanding of classroom management techniques and the ability to effectively manage student behavior.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Confidence in delivering pre-prepared lessons and following instructions provided by the absent teacher.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle unexpected situations.
- Relevant qualifications in education or a related field are desirable but not essential.
