About the Role:
Dunbar Education is delighted to be working with a reputable non-selective secondary school in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, that is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) for regular, ad hoc supply work. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with previous experience in a similar role within a UK secondary school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting students with additional educational needs, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
- Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and delivery, ensuring all students have access to the curriculum.
- Providing one-to-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
- Helping to manage classroom behavior and maintaining a positive learning environment.
- Supporting students' social and emotional development.
- Collaborating with teachers and other LSAs to develop and implement effective support strategies.
- Monitoring and reporting on student progress to teachers and SEN coordinators.
- Encouraging and promoting the inclusion of all students within the school community.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant in a UK secondary school is essential.
- A passion for education and a commitment to supporting students with diverse needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work on an ad hoc basis, often with short notice.
- A positive and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- An understanding of various learning difficulties and strategies to support students effectively.
