About the Role:

Dunbar Education is delighted to be working with a reputable non-selective secondary school in Chesham, Buckinghamshire, that is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) for regular, ad hoc supply work. This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with previous experience in a similar role within a UK secondary school setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting students with additional educational needs, both in the classroom and through targeted interventions.
  • Assisting teachers with lesson preparation and delivery, ensuring all students have access to the curriculum.
  • Providing one-to-one or small group support to students who require additional assistance.
  • Helping to manage classroom behavior and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Supporting students' social and emotional development.
  • Collaborating with teachers and other LSAs to develop and implement effective support strategies.
  • Monitoring and reporting on student progress to teachers and SEN coordinators.
  • Encouraging and promoting the inclusion of all students within the school community.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant in a UK secondary school is essential.
  • A passion for education and a commitment to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to work on an ad hoc basis, often with short notice.
  • A positive and proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • An understanding of various learning difficulties and strategies to support students effectively.
