An exciting opportunity has opened up for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to become a valued member of our lively team at a fantastic secondary school in Corby. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing day-to-day support to students, helping to meet their educational and pastoral needs, thereby enhancing their overall well-being and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualised support to students both in and outside the classroom, focusing on their unique learning requirements.

  • Assist in managing everyday challenges and behaviours, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

  • Extend pastoral care and well-being support to students, actively contributing to a positive and supportive atmosphere within the school.

  • Collaborate with teaching staff on a daily basis to implement effective strategies for the ongoing development of student's social and emotional skills.

  • Contribute to the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) as needed for day-to-day support.

  • Work closely with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to ensure that the specific needs of students are addressed in the daily educational environment.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, especially in working with teenagers.

  • A genuine passion for supporting students in their academic and personal development.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for day-to-day interactions.

  • Proven ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively in a daily teaching assistant role.

  • A commitment to actively promoting an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of GCSEs in English and Mathematics.

  • A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
