An exciting opportunity has opened up for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to become a valued member of our lively team at a fantastic secondary school in Corby. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing day-to-day support to students, helping to meet their educational and pastoral needs, thereby enhancing their overall well-being and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualised support to students both in and outside the classroom, focusing on their unique learning requirements.
Assist in managing everyday challenges and behaviours, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Extend pastoral care and well-being support to students, actively contributing to a positive and supportive atmosphere within the school.
Collaborate with teaching staff on a daily basis to implement effective strategies for the ongoing development of student's social and emotional skills.
Contribute to the creation and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) as needed for day-to-day support.
Work closely with the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to ensure that the specific needs of students are addressed in the daily educational environment.
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, especially in working with teenagers.
A genuine passion for supporting students in their academic and personal development.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for day-to-day interactions.
Proven ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively in a daily teaching assistant role.
A commitment to actively promoting an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum of GCSEs in English and Mathematics.
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
