To be successful in this role, you will need to be confident in supporting children as a classroom assistant. Any previous experience in supporting children with SEN needs would be helpful, due to the increasing level of need within mainstream settings. The ability to work inside the classroom, directly supporting the class teacher as well as having the confidence to break off with intervention groups or on a 1:1 basis, when needed. Patience and tenacity are essential for this role. Confident in supporting children who need help in working towards age-expected working levels.
