Job Description: We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Food Technology Teacher to join our team on a maternity cover basis from September. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive lessons in food preparation, nutrition, and culinary skills to students aged 11-16. The role involves planning and delivering dynamic lessons that cater to a range of abilities, fostering a love for food and promoting healthy eating habits among our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver creative and stimulating lessons in line with the national curriculum.
- Utilize a variety of teaching strategies to engage and motivate students.
- Provide constructive feedback to students to support their progress and development.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning environment conducive to practical food preparation.
- Manage resources effectively and maintain a well-equipped food technology classroom.
- Collaborate with colleagues to contribute to the wider success of the department and school community.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Specialism or strong background in Food Technology or related field.
- Experience teaching Food Technology at secondary level is desirable but not essential.
- Passion for promoting healthy eating and practical cooking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to inspire and motivate students of all abilities.
