We are seeking a qualified Geography Teacher for an SEN provision in Stevenage! This is a suitable role for ECTs and FQTs.

As a Geography Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging and informative lessons that inspire a love for Geography and foster a deeper understanding of the world. With a focus on topics such as world climate, development, and population studies, you will have the chance to ignite curiosity and broaden the horizons of your students.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and deliver high-quality Geography lessons that cater to the unique learning needs of students with SEN and SEMH
- Create and adapt lesson plans to accommodate the individual strengths and challenges of each student, ensuring an inclusive and supportive learning environment
- Utilise a diverse range of teaching strategies and resources to captivate and motivate students, promoting active participation and knowledge retention
- Offer regular feedback, guidance, and encouragement to students, nurturing their progress and providing the necessary support for them to achieve their full potential
- Collaborate effectively with fellow teachers and support staff to ensure a cohesive approach to student development and deliver an outstanding educational experience for all
- Continously monitor and assess student progress, using this information to inform future lesson planning and tailot teaching strategies accordingly
- Maintain accurate records of student achievement and attendance, adhering to school policies and procedures
Requirements:
- QTS or equivalent qualification, demonstrating your competence as an experienced teacher
- Proven experience in teaching Geography to students with SEN and SEMH needs, showcasing your ability to adapt and differentiate instruction effectively
- In-depth knowledge of the National Curriculum and familiarity with the SEN code of practice, ensuring compliance and promoting inclusive education practices
- Strong ability to create dynamic and engaging lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles, encouraging active participation and facilitating deeper understanding
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers
