Job Title: Geography Teacher (Short-Term Contract)

Duration: After Easter until the end of the academic year

Job Description:

Are you passionate about geography and dedicated to inspiring young minds? This secondary school is seeking a talented Geography Teacher to join our team on a short-term basis, running four days a week, from Tuesday to Friday, starting after Easter and continuing until the end of the academic year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging geography lessons for secondary school students, ensuring adherence to the school's curriculum and educational standards.
  • Create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and fosters curiosity about the world around them.
  • Utilize a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing timely feedback and support to help students achieve their academic goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative teaching strategies and cross-curricular initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, achievements, and behavior, following school policies and procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues regarding student progress, concerns, and achievements.
  • Participate in school events, meetings, and professional development activities as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent in the UK.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geography, Education, or a related field.
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching geography to secondary school students.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students to develop a love for geography and a deeper understanding of the world.
  • Experience working in a secondary school setting is preferred but not essential.
  • Commitment to promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported.
