About the Role:

Dunbar Education is seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Business and IT to join this academy. The successful candidate will lead the Business and IT department, overseeing curriculum development, staff management, and the delivery of high-quality education. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape the direction of these key subject areas and inspire students to achieve their best.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Business and IT department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Develop and implement an innovative and effective curriculum that meets the needs of all students.
  • Monitor and evaluate the progress and performance of the department, providing support and guidance to staff.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and enthusiasm.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure continuous improvement across the school.
  • Manage resources effectively to enhance the learning experience for students.
  • Teach high quality Business lessons across the age-range, including KS5

About You:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a relevant degree.
  • Proven experience in teaching Business at secondary level, including A-level/BTEC.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
  • Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for Business and IT.
  • Outstanding communication and organisational skills.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and the ability to drive student achievement.
