Job Title: Head of English and MFL Faculty

We are thrilled to announce a rewarding opportunity for an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to lead the English and MFL Faculty in a forward-looking and thriving Independent School in South Buckinghamshire.

Role Overview: As the Head of Faculty, you will lead a dynamic department encompassing English and Modern Foreign Languages, making a substantial impact on the educational journey of the students and shaping the future of the school community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership and direction for the Faculty, ensuring alignment with the school's vision and values.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of innovative curriculum initiatives to enhance teaching and learning outcomes.
  • Foster a supportive and collaborative environment within the faculty, nurturing the professional growth of staff members.
  • Lead by example through outstanding teaching practice in English Language and/or Literature.
  • Collaborate with other school leaders to promote cross-curricular initiatives and enrich the overall educational experience of our students.
  • Engage with parents, guardians, and external stakeholders to communicate the achievements and progress within the Faculty.


  • Proven track record of outstanding teaching practice in English Language and/or Literature.
  • Experience in a leadership or middle management role within an educational setting is desirable.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • A passion for inspiring and motivating students to achieve their full potential.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and willingness to embrace innovation in education.
