Salary: MPS/UPS (London Fringe) dependent on experience, plus TLR 2

Role Overview: As the Head of Religious Studies, you will play a pivotal role in delivering highly effective lessons, fostering high levels of achievement, and promoting good behavior within the Religious Studies curriculum across the age range. This is an opportunity to lead and inspire both students and colleagues in the pursuit of academic excellence and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the provision of the Religious Studies curriculum, ensuring alignment with the school's educational objectives and promoting a culture of high expectations.
  • Plan and deliver engaging and challenging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of students, fostering a love for learning and encouraging intellectual curiosity.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to colleagues within the Religious Studies department, fostering a collaborative and supportive working environment.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, implementing effective strategies to support individuals in achieving their academic goals.
  • Promote positive behavior management techniques, establishing clear expectations for student conduct and providing appropriate support and intervention where necessary.
  • Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to promote cross-curricular initiatives and enhance the overall educational experience for students.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant academic qualifications in Religious Studies or a related field.
  • Proven experience in teaching Religious Studies at the secondary level, with a track record of delivering highly effective lessons and achieving positive outcomes for students.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate both students and colleagues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff members.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for staying abreast of developments in the field of Religious Studies education.
