Position Overview: As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will play a pivotal role in supporting teachers and contributing to the education and development of primary school children. You will work closely with teaching staff, providing assistance in the classroom, and at times, leading small group activities or covering classes in the absence of the teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with teachers to plan and deliver engaging lessons.
- Assist in the assessment and tracking of students' progress.
- Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional help.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Lead classroom activities when required, maintaining discipline and ensuring students' safety.
- Contribute to the school's pastoral care and student well-being efforts.
- Assist in the preparation of teaching materials and resources.
Qualifications:
- Minimum Level 4 Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Proven experience as an HLTA in a primary school setting.
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to motivate and engage with students.
