We are currently seeking a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a Primary school in High Wycombe.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist teachers in planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective lessons that meet the needs of pupils at various levels of ability.
  • Lead small group interventions and provide one-to-one support to pupils with special educational needs (SEN) or other additional learning needs.
  • Provide support in classroom management, behaviour management, and maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist in the assessment and tracking of pupil progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as required.
  • Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs (Special Educational Needs Coordinators), and other professionals to develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for pupils with SEN.
  • Utilise relevant technology and resources to enhance teaching and learning experiences.

Requirements:

  • Hold a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (STLS), or equivalent.
  • Have experience working as a Higher-Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) or in a similar role in a primary or secondary school setting.
  • Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Have a good understanding of the national curriculum and strategies for supporting pupils with SEN.
  • Be proficient in using ICT tools and software relevant to the role.
  • Be able to work independently as well as part of a team, and demonstrate flexibility, adaptability, and resilience in a dynamic educational environment.
