We are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for our Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting Learning: Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging and effective MFL lessons, supporting students in their language acquisition and development.
  • Small Group and One-to-One Support: Provide targeted support to students in small groups or on an individual basis, helping them to achieve their full potential.
  • Resource Preparation: Aid in the preparation of teaching materials and resources to enhance the learning experience.
  • Classroom Management: Assist in managing classroom behaviour and maintaining a positive and conducive learning environment.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Support the MFL teachers in assessing student progress and providing constructive feedback to promote improvement.
  • Extracurricular Activities: Contribute to the organisation and delivery of MFL-related extracurricular activities, such as language clubs or cultural events.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA, preferably within an MFL department.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education or language studies.
  • Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and at least one other foreign language. Ability to engage and motivate students.
  • Passion: A genuine passion for languages and education, with a commitment to supporting student achievement.
