Position: History Teacher

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging History lessons to students of varying abilities, fostering a deep understanding of historical events, cultures, and perspectives.
  • Teach a wide range of historical topics, including local, national, and global history.
  • Inspire curiosity about the past and promote an appreciation for historical inquiry and analysis among female students.
  • Utilize interactive teaching methodologies, primary and secondary sources, and technology to make history come alive in the classroom.
  • Encourage critical thinking, research skills, and historical literacy through class discussions, debates, and analytical writing exercises.
  • Assess and evaluate student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to support their growth.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where girls feel motivated, encouraged, and valued.
  • Foster an understanding of historical perspectives, cultural diversity, and the importance of historical empathy.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop curriculum materials, schemes of work, and cross-curricular projects.
  • Promote extracurricular activities related to history, such as history clubs, heritage projects, and historical reenactments.
