Are you an experienced and committed HLTA passionate about supporting students with SEN? As an HLTA, your role will be instrumental in providing the necessary support they need to thrive

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with teachers to plan, prepare, and deliver engaging learning activities tailored to the individual needs of students with SEN
  • Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters students' academic, social, and emotional growth
  • Utilize your expertise in working with SEN students to provide appropriate strategies and interventions to support their learning and development
  • Assess, record and report on student's progress, ensuring accurate and comprehensive documentation of their achievements and areas for improvement
  • Collaborate with parents and carers, providing regular updates on students' progress, addressing concerns, and working together to support their educational journey
  • Work closely with other professionals, including educational psychologists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists, to implement IEPs and ensure cohesive support for students with SEN
  • Contribute to the overall development of the SEN provision, sharing insights, ideas, and best practices with the team

Requirements:

  • Hold an HLTA qualification
  • Proven experience working with students with SEN preferably within a specialist provision
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, prepare, and deliver effective learning activities that address the diverse needs of students with SEN
  • Strong understanding of various special educational needs, including but not limited to ASD, SLCN and learning disabilities
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with parents, carers, and professionals involved in students' care
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting the educational development and well-being of students with SEN
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, actively contributing to the sharing of ideas and best practices
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
