Teaching Assistant, Northampton. Contract until the end of the academic year (July finish)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our passionate team at a developing secondary school in Northampton. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in supporting the educational and pastoral needs of our students, contributing to their overall well-being and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver personalised assistance to students, both within and beyond the classroom, prioritising the addressing of individual learning requirements
- Support in handling challenging behaviours, cultivating a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Provided pastoral care and support for well-being, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere throughout the school
- Engage with teaching colleagues to execute effective strategies for enhancing students' social and emotional skills
- Participate in developing and executing IEPs when necessary
- Collaborate closely with the SENCO to ensure the specific needs of students are adequately addressed
Requirements:
Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, particularly working with teenagers.
A passion for supporting students' academic and personal development.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Ability to manage challenging behaviours effectively.
A commitment to promoting an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
Qualifications:
Minimum of GCSEs in English and Mathematics.
A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable.
Start Date:
The successful candidate must be available to start in January 2023.
