We are recruiting a talented lab technician to join a Secondary School Academy in Northampton, renowned for its fantastic facilities and an environment that fosters rich learning experiences.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting the science department and ensuring the smooth operation of our well-equipped laboratories. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient environment for both staff and students.
This is a full-time position, with a short-term contract, starting on 26/02/2024 and finishing on 28/03/2024.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and set up equipment and materials for science experiments and practical lessons.
- Ensure the safe storage and disposal of chemicals and hazardous materials.
- Collaborate with science teachers to provide technical support during lessons.
- Carry out routine maintenance and calibration of laboratory equipment.
- Uphold health and safety standards within the laboratory environment.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant qualifications in a scientific discipline.
- Proven experience as a Lab Technician or a similar role.
- Familiarity with health and safety protocols in a laboratory setting.
- Ability to manage and organise laboratory resources effectively.
